Julen Lopetegui is fully aware of the players in West Ham’s development squad, and the Hammers’ youngsters can expect to get their chance to shine over the next 12 months.

That’s the news that Claret & Hugh received today from a top club source when asked about George Earthy’s impact off the bench yesterday. It’s been made clear to C&H that plans are in place to give more youngsters a chance next season, though it’s believed the best is expected from this exciting crop of talent during the 2025/26 campaign.

It was initially feared that Lopetegui, replacing Moyes, would overlook West Ham’s FA Youth Cup-winning youngsters, and C&H expressed this concern to high-ranking Hammers officials. Therefore, it was reassuring to hear that the club is united in its intentions to get the best from this group of young players, and Lopetegui is clearly aware of that policy.

With FFP and profit and sustainability regulations becoming ever tighter, the Hammers will rely more than ever on the Academy of Football to produce players like Earthy who are first-team ready.

It’s laughable how little research the likes of merson have done. Before slagging off JL .wolves last 21 games after he took them over . Put them 8th in the table in the form guide . At whufc he’s going to get a far bigger budget as well. With some genuine top class players as well.

Lopetegui has said in an interview words to the effect of that he’ll bring youngsters through as long as that is his brief and is what is expected of him by the club and the aim of the club wasn’t to finish in the highest places in the league.

It’s all about rotation and use of academy and squad players, something Moyes failed to do

We aii know that we need to make at least 6 quality signings, a striker, and 2 central defenders the priority, but also a left winger , left back and right back, use the youth players that are ready from the subs bench when things are in our favour and if they show that they are ready for the step up, give them the game time. But i have just read some fantastic news, man city are expecting guardiola to leave, that has to be because they know they are going to get relegated for breaches of ffp, there is no other possible outcome with 115 breaches listed, so paqueta definitely won’t be leaving to join them.

Ollie scarles and Gideon kudua are two players that would do well in our first team squad
