West Ham midfielder Guido Rodríguez could leave in January following a decision by Hammers head coach Julen Lopetegui to use him less.

The Argentinian midfielder is reportedly unhappy at the London Stadium, struggling to adjust to the fast pace of the Premier League. Rodríguez is openly seeking a return to La Liga, more specifically Real Betis, who remain interested in their former player. Notably, Rodríguez was on the cusp of joining Barcelona before his transfer to West Ham.

When Claret & Hugh approached a West Ham source about the likelihood of Rodríguez leaving in January, we were told: “He had a small injury for the Bournemouth game, but the manager only sees him as a bit-part player now.”

This analysis aligns with earlier observations that Rodríguez was overused early in the season despite being a free transfer. Whether Rodríguez agrees with that perspective remains unclear. However, with young talent Lewis Orford featuring in the first-team squad, the club would likely be willing to sell Rodríguez if they can recoup the signing-on fees

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Shades of Javier Mascherano, Argentine international who Pardew couldn’t fit into his team, yet went on to have stellar career with Liverpool & Barcelona, wining 5 Liga titles, 5 cups, 2 champs league, Super Cup, etc. and 177 caps for Argentina.

This one has to be Lopetegui?

Rodrigues on paper looked like a great signing but he has not been able to adjust to the high tempo of the premier league . He has the skills but unfortunately not the speed needed had things turned out differently he would be a really good signing but as it is he should be moved on .he’s not the first player that has struggled when joining a premiership club and not been up to the job and I’m sure he won’t be the last . No one knows how things are going to work out when signing a player that fits the position that they have been brought in to play in the team it’s just one of those things that happens from time to time

Brighton make massive profits on players and get more right than wrong with their data analytic approach.

Steidten and his brother both use the above and have successfully used this strategy previously.

West Ham would be wise to utilise resources already within the club.

Steidten is not immune to the same issues……Mavropanos was identified and recruited by Steidten. I can’t help but like the led for his straightforward approach to the game but he makes so many errors he cannot be our first choice.
Fulkrug…….not enough background checks given he was homesick almost as soon as he arrived.
        Guilherme, jury out.
        Tobido…… attitude very questionable.

So do we know how many players are unhappy there? …
I find it mind boggling, how grown men on this kind of money, start moaning about being unsettled and wanting to leave , when they have only been at the club a few months…do you know if these things are looked in to before we buy ..tobido is a prime example…he never wanted to come to us .yet we pushed to get him ..now he is one of the main ones who keeps falling out with j lo ….why on earth do we get players, who make it abundantly clear theh don’t want to come here….then they do and this happens…I don’t get it …yet you got players like fornals who adored the club and gave everything each game who gets pushed out ….?

Sometimes the best things in life are NOT FREE!

Rodrigues and coaches without release clauses being good examples.

If you want quality it comes at a price.

  • Darkhorse says:

Any player who is unhappy at the club and wishes to move on, has no place on the pitch.
