A top source at West Ham has spoken exclusively to Claret & Hugh this morning to clear up confusion following pictures of agent Will Salthouse alongside Hammers chairman David Sullivan.

The head of Unique Sports Group attended West Ham’s match against Brighton last Saturday as a guest of Sullivan, prompting speculation that he was being used to identify new signings.

London Stadium insiders have revealed to C&H that buying a new striker is a priority for the club, so we asked whether Salthouse was being used to help recruit one of his clients to join West Ham in the upcoming January transfer window.

We were informed that the agent’s presence was nothing to do with any striker search and that he had known David Sullivan for a number of years.

“He’s [Salthouse] not helping with the striker search, but he has brought us players like Bowen, Antonio, Cresswell, Wan-Bissaka, etc., in the past,” was the reply from the high-placed West Ham source.

It is understood that the Hammers will look to do business in the January window, but players must be offloaded first

Can we all stop a minute it dosnt matter what calibre of player we bring in it will not work Start at the top because without a top manager at the helm it’s a waste of time and going nowhere We know it the fans but the board never will see it So we all stay on square one SUCH A SHAME

He tried to push us to sign his client Callum Wilson last summer. It will be the same again in January.

    We never learn.

As much as Sullivan seems to rate Salthouse we don’t even get his very best clients. Marc Guehi and Anthony Gordon.

I dont believe it as Victor M would say.

Salthouse, Silkman Mackay will be involved. Steidten will suggest a few via data analysis but they will be too young, no prem experience, too risky and of course too expensive.
