West Ham delivered ominous news in Ward Prowse sale

West Ham will be looking to offload James Ward-Prowse in the January window, Claret & Hugh has been told by a transfer source.

The 30-year-old former Saint has fallen out of favour under Nuno Espirito Santo and has failed to make either of the new manager’s first two squads. It will come as little surprise, then, that Ward-Prowse will be on the for-sale list in January. However, West Ham are under no illusions about receiving a significant fee for the midfielder, having failed to attract a single enquiry during the summer.

No Market for JWP

Speaking to our top transfer source, who has been involved in multiple Premier League deals, we were told that Everton boss David Moyes rejected the chance to sign Ward-Prowse for half price.

“Moyes was offered him [Ward-Prowse] in the summer for £15m but said no,” our source revealed.

But that wasn’t the end of it, as the knockout blow soon followed: “Not one single club went in for him in the summer. West Ham would have sold him, but nobody bid.”

When Claret & Hugh asked if there was a chance of the midfielder going out on loan, we were told:

“To who? Southampton might take him, but West Ham would have to cover most of his wages.”

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

No use crying about it now, just swallow the medicine and move on and don’t jump headlong into the same trap again. Contracts need to be re-written, especially for certain players, to protect the club. Same with coaches too.

When he came back to us after his loan deal was terminated at Notts Forest people were saying it’s like having a new signing again,What a load of tosh he was only ever known for his ability at set pieces and for that he has never scored from a free kick for us.
I’m glad Nuno has come in and dropped him straight away..

Cover MOST of his wages… or cover all of his wages while not even making the bench! Sounds a no brainer to me! But I’m no more an expert that this apparent spokesman!
    Likewise Rodriguez!

  • John Ayris says:

He has shown no sign of being premier league quality in recent times, there is no surprise in this at all.

  • Dean says:

What a huge pity Moyes didn’t say no when he insisted we brought him to West Ham! This is yet another glaring example the awful way this club is run, and the owners solution to this mess is to get rid of any idea of a having a professional recruitment process preferring the tried and failed sulli DoF model. This charlatan deserves to see his investment fall apart around him, unfortunately we will all have to face the consequences of his actions and see the club we love playing championship football in that soulless bowl! Cheers

Should loan him back to Southampton even if have to cover half his wages or release him.

If our directors were managers of a club they would have been gone years ago for financial mismanagement, how many players have we wasted and lost in excess of £20m on.

Can’t blame JWP for this, it’s on the board and Moyes though now his PL career is likely over.

He’ll stay where he is and get well looked after and paid tip top dough. Good luck to.him.A contract is a mutual.agreement and I think I’ve read his dad is a solicitor of some sort so he’ll be well advised. Anything that shows up Sully and costs him money is fine by me.
And Moyes and Potter don’t come out of it smelling of roses do they

It’s a shame when a footballer’s ‘legs just go’. JWP in his first season with us was a decent player but he seemed to struggle near the end of the season and has become a shadow of what he was. The danger of buying older players when athletism has become so important.

  • REGINALD OLIVER says:

More fool West Ham for singing old washed up player Stoke used to do it years ago just to keep them in the first devision but look where they are now cheap skate Sullivan
