West Ham United have confirmed to Claret & Hugh this afternoon that there has been no transfer approach from Real Madrid for Nayef Aguerd.

The on-loan Hammers defender has been causing a stir in La Liga for Real Sociedad with a string of top performances.

The Basque club beat Barcelona 1-0 earlier this month, with West Ham’s Aguerd earning the man of the match award. As a result, the Moroccan has been linked with a big-money move to several clubs, potentially offering the Hammers an unexpected windfall in the summer.

When C&H asked a top club source whether the additional income would be spent on other areas of the squad, there was genuine surprise at reports of Madrid’s interest in the player.

We were informed that there have been no offers or inquiries for Aguerd so far, although it is pleasing that his form has picked up.

However, if the club were expecting a significant bid from Real, they certainly weren’t letting on. A top Hammers insider commented: “Real Madrid? We’ve not heard that, but we can dream.”

We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Aguerd always had the skills and is a top international player, it’s seems as if something happened during his time at West Ham that soured his interest in remaining and clearly had an impact on his performances in claret & blue.
IF Lopetgui is interested in having 4 central defenders, I cannot see why he wouldn’t be an ideal candidate.
