Rumours and stories abounded this morning as, after the drama of the English Premier League window closing at 11.00 last night, several other windows remained open for business as Hammers players were linked with ‘last minute’ departures.

Dutch site vi.nl – reported by caughtoffside.com this morning, linked Luis Guilherme with a move to Feyenoord, in their article entitled

“West Ham forward set to leave beyond Premier League deadline day”: stating:

“The Hammers could lose attacker Luis Guilherme to Dutch club Feyenoord, according to Voetbal International. The Dutch transfer window is still open and it will shut down on the 4th of February which would make it possible for Feyenoord to sign the West Ham attacker.”

So this morning to get the exact position regarding Guilherme, who came on late last night against Chelsea (more of that later) – we spoke to Claret and Hugh’s highly placed source within the club this morning: Were the stories linking the Brazilian with a post – EPL deadline day exit true? Was Guilherme on his way out of West Ham?

” No we decided to keep him, despite bids”

So. Now you know. Guilherme is staying to develop under Graham Potter.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

Great news keeping the lad , W. H. haven’t spent any REAL MONEY this winter , so can’t come up with that excuse! at last G.P. is bringing some common sense into the proceedings . and he would recognise an unpolished pearl when he finds one , unlike the flop mongers.

I dont get the knock Tim thing.. yes, we didnt get Duran and instead got Fulkrug and Guilherme – the main thing wrong this season was the man in the hot seat. JLo was never the right appointment and I believe this was pushed more by Sullivan. Under Potter we trust – he’s come in, the team are playing for him, there was an air of optimism about our play and some common sense. Wan-Bisakka at once stage turned prime Messi to run up the right, his cross let him down but I’m really happy with his signing. I back Guilherme to do well and the lad needs time to settle into the UK and a part of the team. He needs more minutes really and is such a decent play. Hoping we climb and finish above Spurs and Man U this season as a realistic target !!

Potter is a real coach not a scammer like LOSEpetegui . Under Potter Westham will have a chance in every game and as seen every player will edge toward their best .

Good news, but I do think FIFA should impose a transfer deadline date & time (adjusted for int time zones) worldwide.

  • Mark Boots says:

I’m very glad to hear this, especially as Summerville could be out for up to eight weeks, I personally believe this could be the start of something special with the lad. He has silky smooth control, trickery and more importantly pace. We need him and I think it was smart business of Tim Steidten to get him.

  • Bill Ryan says:

Glad to hear it the boy is definitely a talented player and looked not out of place last night and still just eighteen years old

  • Uncle Bonzo says:

This is brilliant news, I thought the lad did well when he came on last night and he looked quick with the ball definitely one to keep

  • Esexiron42 says:

Thank goodness for that. I’m sure Summerville’s extended injury time influenced the decision but at least he is staying. Luis looked extremely dangerous when he came on and you could see his frustration and desire when the ball went out for a goal kick instead of a corner. Put in a great cross with his first touch and nice to see him not afraid to carry the ball during the 11 minute cameo he was given. Give the lad more opportunities and he will thrive.

  • Muffybean says:

After seeing the news that Cry Summerville is possibly out for up to 8 weeks, it is even more vital that we keep him. Give the lad a chance, he is still so young and has displayed some rare talent that could benefit the team on an extended run.

  • Mick Bering says:

    Some common sence at last

  • Gary says:

For the limited time he was on Lius looked a hell of a lot better than Soler or Irving. Give the lad a chance for Christ sake

    • bonzosboy says:

he did look good, but the only reason you should have had for mentioning Soler was that he had a cracker. best game from him so far. no need to ignore that to make ypur point

  • John Ayris says:

Which was what it said on the tin from the very beginning. Young player who will train with the first team not the U18s who will not be a regular starter but who will get cameo appearances.

  • Peter says:

Brilliant. I thought he looked extremely dangerous and purposeful in his play against Chelsea.
