Exclusive: West Ham reveal jury is now out on Moyes
We explained earlier today that we had contacted the club asking the question but had been met with a stony silence on the issue writes Hughie Southon.
However, within the last few minutes the club has responded to our enquiry we have been told that talks have now slowed and that the humiliating defeat by Arsenal yesterday has put a new perspective on things.
The precise quote given to us was “The jury is out for the next x number of games as things stand following the defeat yesterday at the London Stadium.”
However, it seems unlikely now that Moyes will be fired before the end of the season with the Hammers as safe as it gets from relegation.
But the prospect of success and qualification for Europe is growing dimmer and dimmer and a slide down the league would see the club missing out on higher end of season positional payments.
They may choose to live with that rather than look for an available manager at a time of the season when none appear to be suitable.
But Tim Steidten and David Sullivan will be looking at an end of season appointment as they track certain individuals before the end of the season.
The club were seriously unimpressed yesterday as they saw a a mass desertion of supporters from the stadium which probably left around 30,000 – 35,000 inside the ground after 80 minutes or so.
