A top West Ham official has refuted suggestions that David Sullivan and Tim Steidten are meeting this week to discuss the future of Julen Lopetegui.

Reports had claimed the Hammers chairman and director of football would hold talks about the Spaniard’s future, but these have been dismissed. Claret & Hugh were informed bluntly by a high-ranking West Ham insider: “There is no truth in this story.”

In reality, there is little need for such a meeting. The next two games—against Newcastle away and Arsenal at home—are critical for Lopetegui’s tenure as Hammers boss. Many at the club remain hopeful for his success.

However, anything less than three points from these fixtures will likely see West Ham slip further down the Premier League table, putting the club in a precarious position. There is little appetite at the club to enter the congested December schedule hovering near the relegation zone.

Losses in the upcoming matches are likely to spell the end for the former Real Madrid boss. Whether Tim Steidten would play a role in recruiting the next West Ham manager remains uncertain at best

So what was the meeting about you told us everything it wasn’t but nothing about what it was, misleading headline bad enough getting it from Sullivan but you don’t expect it from your own

  • Steve says:

That’s an interesting observation re Kretinsky. I have recently been wondering if that might be the case

  • Kip says:

What ???? critical like the Everton game were if we didn’t win he would be sacked .🤣🤣👍…99% of media stuff these days is just lies. Or made up click bait……can’t rely on any of you/ them ..just saying

  • Ray says:

“Many at the club remain hopeful for his success”, really? NOTHING can erase the evidence of the last five months. Five months which have clearly defined the ability of Lopetegui in all areas of the job. As I said yesterday, winning the next six games does not change that, he has to go.

  • Makoshark says:

When did Tim become ‘Director of Football’ … I thought he was still the Technical Director?

    • Matt says:

If you believe the propaganda Tim is a waste of space and we should embrace Sully and his mate Will Salthouse to sign players 🤦‍♂️🤣

      • Annette Markham says:

in my opinion he should follow Lopetegui out the door anyone can get 3 players right out of all he has brought in and with no Moyes there to keep him in his place look where it got us

What is wrong with the owners JL has got to go and needs to go now our next two games against Newcastle and arsenal will be a disaster with JL still in charge we will get a trashing by both of them and may well find ourselves in the relegation zone and given how things are with JL and the owners failing to act in time we will struggle to get out of it now is the time to act otherwise it will be to late

    • Matt says:

85% of our fans agree Benny thanks to the poll by Sean Whetstone.

The 15% who are obviously the anti Tim and pro Moyes “be careful what you wish for” squad fail to agree.

The minority won’t be able to drown out the majority if the crowd make it known against Arsenal at home with the game on Sky!

Time to shout it loud & proud ⚒️

  • Essexiron67 says:

Well whatever happens in the next 2 games is going to be harder without kudus and alvares but when they are back the team needs to be a lot more disciplined, the best teams don’t keep racking up bookings. Bowen a great player but maybe we should have a captain in defence as jb,s got enough to think about up front

    • Matt says:

Kiliman needs to take over the armband so Bowen can have one less thing on his mind and purely focus on scoring and creating chaos in the oppositions back four 👌

    • Bill Ryan says:

Alvarez only got one game ban for two yellows so should be fine

  • John Ayris says:

We’ve been dire away, we conceded three and four against Forest and Tottenham. I cannot see any reason to expect different at Newcastle. We’ve not been a lot better at home either and I cannot see us getting much joy from Arsenal. In my estimation he should be gone already and we’re already fiddling while Rome burns….

    • Matt says:

For that to happen a clueless stubborn 🤡 would have to admit that they appointed a taller 🤡 to be our coach!

  • weathamsteve says:

Why wait for the inevitable to happen. What makes you think that we have the capacity to beat Newcastle and Arsenal? We don’t have the desire or the talent apparently and a coach who has no idea how to put a game plan together. In fact he has run off back to italy for a “rest”,rather than work with players that are still here. He’s also now blaming our director of football for the players he brought in,rather than take responsibility himself, also blaming the players, who obviously don’t want to play for him.Anyway that’s my opinion.

    • Matt says:

JLo is a 🤡 appointed by a 🤡 just another day at the Circus 🎪

    • Jellied Eel says:

I think you will find that the manager returned to his country, Spain, not Italy, to see his father. Given that anyone under the age of 40 seems to think that life-work balance is essential (otherwise they’ll burst into tears), I can’t see why it doesn’t apply in this case.

      • Matt says:

People of a certain age and era fear change.

See how easy it is to make a generalisation about an age group……Jellied Eel.

Loyalty and trust can be a strength
When misplaced it is a weakness!

Just because your older, it doesn’t make you wiser!

      • Jimbo says:

I’ve some sympathy with JLo when he queries the appetite of some of the players. We are packed full of seasoned internationals who need to start taking personal responsibility for their actions. Is it all down to JLo, or Moyes before him? Nope.

        • Matt says:

Have Msn Utd improved since they tinned off Ten Hag…… absolutely!

Are Moyes and JLo both pragmatic managers that invite untold pressure in games and uninspiring tactically ……

Without a shadow of doubt YES!!?

      • Ray says:

Can I borrow that “life – work balance” comment?

  • R B K says:

I think it’s clear to everyone ( hope that includes the board ) that Lopetegui cannot
cut it as manager , for which he is totally out of his depth .
Managers almost half his age is showing him up as an outdated no vision coach .
Why delay the inevitable , we are likely to lose 6 points in the next two games .
Give a new manager the opportunity to work with the team rather than do further damage.

  • Matt says:

I wouldn’t believe anything that C&H’s “top source” says tbh even though unfortunately it’s probably true!

So many fabricated stories and propaganda flying around.

    I’m with Public Enemy & Flavour Flave……

    “Don’t believe the hype!”

    • Bill Ryan says:

Totally agree Sullivan uses his sources to peddle propaganda ie Jim white and talkcrap for a start put out one thing but doing something different in the background, one thing he’s not gonna outright say he’s going to sack him, look at united nothing in the press about ten hag then Monday morning at training bang he’s gone he had no idea he was getting ready for European game on Wednesday, and they pulled the trigger

      • Matt says:

Jim White lost his spot on Sky Sports and got relegated to Talk Sport, apart from when they wheel him out for Transfer Deadline day!

He is so far up Sully’s arse I’m surprised we don’t see his grey head popping out the top of Sully’s hat!

Brady and Moyes too have their friends in the media gushing out all kinds of sewage!

Let’s hope Sully pulls the trigger and the 🤡 is fired no later than after the Arsenal game 🤞

  • Kenny Irons says:

Shows how deluded the board are thinking he’s going to turn it around. Why do we need two more thrashings for something to happen ? Clowns, the lot of them 👎

    • Matt says:

Brady has shown her true colours opposing the Football Regulator and siding against Man City in their recent PSR case.

It’s obvious this is not with fans in mind, but it’s in her and Sully’s best interests.

The Football Regulator has been welcomed by fans but opposed by the greedy wealthy elite.

When it gets approved Sully will find it much harder to sell to a foreign buyer, subsequently taking a hit on the so called £800m valuation by Brady.

As for opposing Man City regarding PSR. It’s obvious that this is to prevent clubs that can attract lucrative commercial deals, such as stadium naming rights from pulling even further ahead of West Ham. This would highlight the massive error of not building our own state of the art stadium on the old Post Office site located at West Ham.

Renting an athletics stadium not fit for football, compared to Spurs who will generate lucrative contracts perfectly illustrates why Brady is protecting her own interests. It will also make it obvious that Brady’s so called Commercial acumen is seriously substandard.

Unfortunately Brady & Sully don’t care at all about the fan experience. They sold our soul (Upton Park), they changed our club crest which was iconic and they continue to claim they’re ambitious whilst appointing managers we never want!

Kretinsky is a very shrewd business man. If he had any sense, he’d wait until West Ham decline further and become much more affordable than Brady’s £800m valuation.
