West Ham insiders have exclusively confirmed to Claret and Hugh that the Hammers will receive 35% of the deal, which sees Pierre Ekwah move from Sunderland to Saint-Étienne.

However, Chelsea will receive 35% of our fee, so the net fee received will be around 22.5%

The option to buy for the French club is said to be €6m, which is around £5.14m, so the Hammers could get £1.8m  with Chelsea receiving around £630,000 of that, leaving West Ham £1.17m net.

West Ham have already contacted Sunderland, who will confirm when the deal is completed.

Ekwah signed for West Ham in June 2021 for a nominal fee plus a 35% sell-on clause

In January 2023, Ekwah transferred to Sunderland for a nominal fee plus a 35% sell-on clause

Ekwah was sent on loan to Saint Etienne last season for a €1 loan fee with a €6m option to make it permanent.

Saint-Etienne were relegated to Ligue 2 last season. Les Verts have finished the season in 17th place, and they will accompany bottom-placed Montpellier in the second tier next season.

Gosh we may just have enough to get a national league south defender because we sure as hell could not afford a striker from there way to expensive.
