“Expected to Sign” | Hammers Agree Fee With Man U

It is being reported this Sunday afternoon that West Ham United and Manchester United have now reached an agreement for the transfer of right-back target Aaron Wan Bissaka. A fledgling deal has been agreed to enable Manchester United to proceed with their signing of replacement Noussair Mazraoui.

As we recall at the end of this week West Ham had tried in vain to sign Mazraoui but walked away – apparently – from the deal owing to unpaid fees due to the player which it seemed the Hammers were asked to add-on to the transfer fee.

Whether this tipped Manchester United into acting fast to secure Mazraoui’s agreement and increased their urgency to sell on Wan Bissaka- we will have to wait and see. That would certainly be the impression.

We wait of course for the player to accept West Ham’s salary and conditions: We have been here before when the player decided against West Ham during last week’s negotiations, preferring a move to Inter Milan. The article seems to suggest the offer to Wan-Bissaka has been tweaked and should be more acceptable. No doubt we will find out more tomorrow.

Simon’s earlier report concerning news that Southampton have moved their stance towards agreement with a transfer of Kyle Walker Peters shows that quite possibly West Ham are hedging their bets to lever the best deal for the club, instead of being manipulated into paying a full price by a club smelling desperation.

Great news indeed if it transpires that the two are being bounced off one another to secure the best terms for a deal for West Ham.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. Don't take my comments too seriously, imagine we are having a chat at half time over a pint at L S and "let's disagree without falling out".

I thought AWB had made it plain he wanted to go to Milan ! So we were making a bid of £13.5m plus addons for Mazraoui so given Man U need to sell AWB to buy Mazraoui then pesumably AWB isn’t as good in their eyes so if this was to happen we should be getting AWB for a fair bit cheaper than we were prepared to pay for Mazraoui !

What’s the betting we land up paying more ! if this does happen.

I’ll give it 24 hours before this one is off for any of the following reasons:

    1. Too expensive
    2. Wages too high
    3. Player doesn’t fancy it
    4. Selling club proving ‘too tough’ to deal with
    5. Agent fees too high

Maybe I’ll be proved wrong but I thought getting £18m for Downes was good business. He’s a decent player, but from what we’ve seen, he’s not taking us to European football and I wouldnt say there is much in it between him and Potts.
    I’d also take Wan-Bissaka over Walker-Peters.

🤣🤣 so all these fk ups and lost targets are a plan ..
Ffs …no we just have clowns running our club …you only have to look at the flyn downs transfer to see how dumb they are …..give soton what they want and all the advantages..then they refuse all our bids and mug us of ….and we knew how desperate they were for downs because the soton manager said as much on sky sport’s….what was it ….” I’ll cry myself to sleep if we don’t sign him”
Perfect you would think we hold all the cards …then that happened and once again embarrass ourselves once again 🤣🤣 laughable

Expected to sign is a bit of a push…we’re fortunate that he doesn’t have any other offers.

A club with European football comes in he won’t be coming to us.

  • John Ayris says:

I thought that the story was that he preferred to go to Milan ?

  • Essexirons says:

Didn’t he turn us down last week?

In Tim we trust. I saw him in the Liz line a few weeks ago and he looked like a man on a mission, so I left him alone so he could get on with his work. Go go Timbo.
