‘Experts’ agree on Hammers v Blades

Not sure whether it’s good or bad news but the ‘experts ‘ are agreed that West Ham will bounce back from their recent poor results tomorrow.

A quick round up of the pundits shows that there’s a unanimous agreement the Irons will put Sheffield United to the blade this weekend.

It’s always a tad worrying when Mark Lawrenson predicts a victory but given he was right in claiming we would lose the last two games against Palace and  Everton this could be a decent omen.

The shortage of goals by he visitors may be the key to a game which we believe has draw written all over it unless the hammers can find the sort of inventiveness they showed in the earlier games against Man U, Watford and Norwich City.

Truth is another defeat would be a disaster as would a performance which wasn’t right up there as we show the sort of grit we demonstrated against Villa and  Bournemouth.

Larenson in predicting a 2-0 win says on his BBC website column: West Ham have had a bit of a dip with their recent results, and they did not play well when they lost to Everton last weekend.

That kind of inconsistency is just what West Ham seem to do, but maybe they won’t do it as many times this season.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder keeps getting it right, with his latest success being his side’s impressive win over Arsenal on Monday.

The Blades’ away form is very good, but I think this is a tough game for them.

Yes, West Ham are very up and down but when they play well at home, they are a very dangerous side.

Sky Sports front man meanwhile Jeff Stelling has predicted that West Ham will beat Sheffield United 2-0 via Sky Sports’ Super Six.

Charlie Nicholas reckons it a Hammers 2-1 win saying: “We have been complementing West Ham – Manuel Pellegrini has been clever – but they went to Everton and everyone to a man was poor.

“Sheffield United, as we saw against Arsenal, are very good in their shape and in energy and togetherness. They are always at you, with four or five runners too.

“They have no real star qualities as individuals, but everybody buys into Chris Wilder’s plan – it is raw honesty and desire that gets them there.

“The Blades don’t score many, though, and I think West Ham will be angry after last week.”
