Fab: “We’re never actually thinking we are safe”

|

With Lukasz Fabianski between the sticks you always have a chance whoever you are playing and he will clearly need to be at his best this evening.

The vastly experienced goalkeeper believes things are currently very much in the Hammers hands but that they all have to continue controlling the situation.

Saturday was a bad day and tonight gives us the opportunity of bouncing back in the biggest possible way – another heavy defeat would smash into the confidence levels wee have built up over the last few games.

Fab claims it is now down to the lads to get over the line. He makes it clear we don’t really need to be looking at other teams – we have to do this on our own.

Fab is an entirely honest operator and doesn’t deal in the platitudes handed out by so many football people and speaking to the official site he said: “I think my experience with English football actually helps me to deal with the present situation in a good way.

When we have some sort of conversation about the situation, or when I hear some conversations of players, then I’ll try to step in a little bit and just share my experience.

We always knew that it was going to take more than what we are on at the moment. We’re never actually thinking that we are safe, we know that we need to get more points, but everything is still in our hands.

We know that we have a really good group of players, but you have to show it every single game. I think you can clearly see a change in terms of performances and the results after the last international break.

But it is clear that this season has been a bit of a struggle. We made a lot of changes in the summer. We brought in a lot of players from different leagues, so for them it’s a new experience playing in the Premier League, and it always takes time.
