Fabianski is off to Macedonia and Israel

Hammer of the Year Lukasz Fabianski has been named in the Poland squad for their UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying fixtures against North Macedonia and Israel early next month.

Poland are aiming to qualify for a fourth consecutive Euro finals, having reached the quarter-finals in France three years ago, and will look to extend their 100% start in Group G in June’s games. First, they take on North Macedonia in Skopje on Friday 7 June, before returning home to face Israel in Warsaw three days later.

Fabianski enjoyed an outstanding debut season for the Hammers, winning the fans’ acclaim to become just the sixth goalkeeper voted Hammer of the Year while also picking signing of the season and save of the season at a gala dinner earlier this month.

Now, he will be hoping to end the campaign on another high as he looks to add to his 48 international caps. Fabianski has often played second choice Polish keeper behind former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny who now plays for Juventus.
