West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paquetá has agreed terms to leave the club, according to Fabrizio Romano.

In a move sure to provoke a huge reaction, the transfer ITK has revealed that Paquetá has agreed personal terms with Flamengo.

Claret & Hugh have been informed by a non-club source that the Brazilian has told West Ham bosses he does not wish to play for the club again. Last night, C&H were told that claims Paquetá would sign for Tottenham Hotspur were false, but the cryptically worded statement from a source close to the player only ruled out Spurs. Additionally, it was said: “He won’t be at West Ham next season, 100%.”

This fast-moving story was updated earlier today by ExWHUEmployee, who stated that the Hammers’ record signing is pushing hard for a move back to Brazil.

West Ham Backed Into a Corner

What has become increasingly clear is that Paquetá and Flamengo are attempting to force West Ham’s hand into accepting a lower fee for the 28-year-old.

Writing on his X account, Romano said:
“Lucas Paquetá has reached an agreement with Flamengo on personal terms, all done on player side.
Paquetá wants to return to Brazil and talks are now ongoing with West Ham.
Up to #WHUFC with player pushing to make it happen.”

It is clear the club are being backed into a corner, with manager Nuno Espírito Santo determined to hold on to Paquetá. With George Earthy having left for Bristol City and no replacement lined up, West Ham could scarcely be in a worse position.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Let him go but add a big sell on clause, if He has a good WC, may well have suitors and choose to move again

Paqueta has been proven to be useless for Westham for 2.5 seasons on the pitch and so his loss changes nothing . The real downside is financial where once again the old duffer Sullivan is going to be suckered into a massive loss . Brazilian clubs have no money and so Westham look screwed . Westham always manage to make a huge loss on every player signed , amounting to several hundred million in just a few years . No club can survive with this level of incompetence and it highlights how bad Sullivan is at running the club .

Did you see the article from TC at the weekend? He was saying West Ham have only sold 3 players for a profit during the GSB reign. Staggering when you think we have must have signed hundreds in the last 16 years. For the record the three are Kudus, Payet and Downes

Lets face it if not for the FA’s Farcical investigation into Pacman he would of been sold to Citeh and he has not been the same player since that whole debacle started so lets get real and accept that his heart has not been with us for a good while now and move on.

It’s time to move on. Thanks for your service Lucas. I’m sorry that neither us nor you really ever managed to reach the heights we were collectively capable of, but you’ll be remembered well at the LS. Best of luck.

Top dollar transfer fee or banish him to the youth team (which he wouldn’t get into on current form)

  • Lawrence says:

Let him go he is a liability and he had checked out a long time ago.

I was expecting this today after he wasn’t in the squad at the weekend. Might as well let him go to Brazil as we are virtually down now. Not his fault that we have had 3 years of mismanagement and continued to buy second rate players. I think he has been a joy to watch for most of the time he has been with us. I am confident he will be one of the stand out players at the World Cup where he won’t be playing with second rate players

It was good at West Ham when we had a Paqueta Rice. Then Declan joined Arsenal and they now have something even bigger – a Saka Rice. Time to let the boy from Brazil go back to his family home in Paqueta Island off Rio De Janeiro. I just hope he stays away from the betting shops where, it was alleged, some of his family and friends like to have a bit of a flutter. Hope you will be happy there, Lucas!

Of course the Pacmans going to be sold don t be fooled by the board splashing out on new players from there own pockets This will all be paid for by players being sold SAME OLD SAME OLD
