Fabrizio Romano Reveals West Ham Transfer Hold-up

West Ham United’s move for Axel Disasi has stalled, according to football transfer ITK Fabrizio Romano.

Disasi had been keen on a move to AC Milan, but the Serie A side have now withdrawn their interest, leaving a switch to the London Stadium as his only realistic option. A loan deal between Chelsea and West Ham has already been agreed, with the Hammers even booking a medical for the player.

However, it now appears the French centre-back is having second thoughts about joining a club he was never fully convinced by in the first place.

Romano wrote on X:

ā€œWest Ham are waiting for Axel Disasi’s final answer on the transfer after verbal agreement with Chelsea over loan deal.ā€

All Eggs in One Basket

The situation is becoming increasingly uncomfortable for West Ham. Having focused so heavily on Disasi, the club now find themselves exposed if the defender decides to walk away.

Earlier in the window, the Hammers refused to improve their bid for Taylor Harwood-Bellis of Southampton, effectively shelving their main alternative.

With time rapidly running out on deadline day, West Ham’s defensive plans now hinge almost entirely on Disasi’s decision — a risky position to be in during a relegation battle.

If he says no, the consequences could be severe.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!

This whole debacle underlines how incompetent Sullivan is . Get a CB , get a CB , get a CB , the most important position for Westham who are heading for their worst defensive season ever in the Premier League and now predictably have lost Todibo . Something was always going to happen to either Mavro or Todibo during the run in . Unfortunately BS will likely oversee Westham’s descent through the lower leagues until dementia or death steps in .

Great business so far,3forwards that haven’t scored a league goal between them looking at second rate defenders for the worst defence in the league and selling anyone they can ,all looking like relegation to me ,well done sulli and co the final insult to the long suffering fans

We have wasted yet again a transfer window on a player who does not want to sign for us
He is desperate to leave Chelsea but not enough to join us
Let’s just forget it, waste of time
As for Duran, just dreaming again, on what could have been and never will be
Our owners are a bunch of dreamers leading the fans up the garden path to nothing as usual
Sorry state which could cost us dearly
No gumption to try and save our season

  • Evan S says:

With todibo out for a few games now, Kilman is a strater so signing disasi is a must

  • Dean says:

I’m not overly certain that mr Sullivan is quite as good at being the transfer guru that he believes himself to be gonzo! I’d love to be in the room on the day relegation is confirmed

  • Paul Basnett says:

Everyone is thinking the same, this is all so unprofessional and unplanned. Leaving it all so late and this guy doesn’t want to come anyway unless there is literally no choice, he isn’t playing so will be off the pace and is he any good?
    All so very Sullivan.
We have urgently required to sort out reliable CBs for at least three transfer windows now and we still can’t do it.
The scattergun all over the place planning and execution of transfer windows is going to get us relegated when it could of saved us.

  • Den says:

The money grabbing owners have just a few hours left to turn this below par transfer window around. They have had a month to sort this desperste situation out and this will be the final straw for many fans.
Signings so far have been average at best.

So long as Baroness Botox is able to book in some more cosmetic procedures, and then boast about it to her legions of vacuous followers on social media, that’s all that matters.

  • Jeeps says:

    There’s a surprise.
Obviously heard that whu love to do transfers on the eleventh hour.
Not that it really matters as they haven’t got any one else in pipeline.
All those bridges have been burnt thanks Sullivan.
Done great job getting rid of most big earners ready for next season fire sale.

Ridiculous to not have CB in by transfer day what is Sullivan thinking
