Fab’s a man in a mask

Lukasz Fabianski has been seen at Rush Green following surgery on his eye socket.

Fab was seen wearing a mask after undergoing surgery on his eye socket with the addition of a metal plate.

Speaking to reporters last month, David Moyes confirmed Fabianski’s surgery saying: “My belief is he had an operation this week, He had a plate inserted in his eye I believe. I think he had it on Thursday. We think it would be after the international break before he would be available again.”

It’s great to see Fab back at the training ground following the nasty injury he suffered against Nottingham Forest on February 25.

But with the international break due to start on 25th March, it appears Fabianksi will still be out for the whole of March and possibly part of April.

The first game after the international break is Southampton at the London Stadium, but by then, Areola may have earned the right to stay number one, with Fabianksi forced to wait for his chance again on the bench.  Areola was an £8.2m summer signing from PSG last year.
