Face Swap Potter Riddles His Way Through Pressure Cooker Presser

There was a point very early in Graham Potter’s West Ham career when his press conferences felt like a breath of fresh air.

Part of that was down to the contrast with former boss Julen Lopetegui, whose command of English was limited and whose habit of speaking at length without saying much was frustrating. Potter, by comparison, brought positivity, promises of promoting academy talent, and a commitment to fixing the team’s obvious tactical flaws.

Unfortunately, the under-pressure Hammers manager now seems to be leaning more on riddles and deflection than substance.

Potter failed to provide any insight as to how he intends to fix West ham’s set-piece problem

Everton v West Ham presser

His pre-Everton press conference, for example, included a mildly amusing aside about the viral face-swap trend—but otherwise, it was dominated by reminders of how tough the Premier League is and how fine the margins can be.

What was missing was any detail on how he plans to fix West Ham’s leaky defence, which continues to concede from corners, or address the problem of misfiring strikers. Nor was there any mention of the midfield’s persistent failings.

To be fair, it can’t be easy for Potter knowing the club are already interviewing potential replacements behind his back. That said, he was hardly innocent when his predecessor faced the same situation.

Nobody knows for sure whether Everton or Arsenal will be Potter’s make-or-break game. But if West Ham are to spring a surprise against David Moyes’ Toffees, there was little evidence in this press conference that the manager has the answers.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

He doesn’t have the answers, Gonzo, and never will, totally out of his depth.
Unfortunately, neither do Sullivan or Brady….needs added pressure for these two to step away from
footballing matters, as until they do we will never move forward.

I suppose the old saying “dont believe the hype” is very relevant here. I didn’t want Potter at all as I saw him as more negative than Loppy. I saw the first match against Villa which was decent a bit more organised. I saw the iron-cast interview and he came across really well said all the right things. We got a lucky win against Fulham I then went to see the 0.0 draw v Palace, no shots on or off target from that moment I realised my original feelings were correct and this guy is utterly clueless. And that impression is hammered home with every game this fraud is in charge. Please just sack him
