As the relegation impact starts to unfold at West Ham United, the ‘farewells’ have started to populate social media as the players and coaching staff whose contracts or loans have ended have said their goodbyes.

West Ham fans try and decipher the cryptic posts of Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek and Crysencio Summerville, all of whom have left their futures hanging ..but in Bowen and Soucek’s cases, at least made passing references to the possibility of remaining and fighting to return the Hammers to the top tier.

No such future references from Taty Castellanos, whose instagram post, whilst touching is perhaps ominous for what it doesn’t say. No reference to the future whatsoever can only leave fans of the striker – me incuded- thinking it likely he’ll not be planning to stick around next season. Judge for yourself:

“We were able to fight until the very last minute”: To me that doesn’t sound like a statement of intent for the future, more akin to the whole text which reads like a lament of what could have been.

Hope I’m wrong: Claret and Hugh readers can make up their own minds.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

No way he stays, zero chance. We need to just hope we can get in what we paid for him, or close to it.

I just take all these messages with a pinch of salt. This latest message from Taty is just cringeworthy but some people are going to lap it up.I think it’s a load of bull.
