Fan fury as Moyes accused of “crossing the line”
David Moyes has drawn fan fury and has been accused of crossing the line with his comment that “maybe some fans want a change or maybe they’ve had managers who excite them more possibly… but the one who’s sitting here wins more”. He seems to have forgotten about Ron Greenwood who won trophies worth more than the lowest in Europa – the Conference – and John Lyall who took us to klour highest ever league position – third in 1985/86. He may now find he has dug his final hole by turning on the fans.
Here’s a reaction from random Claret and Hugh followers:
- You just crossed a line Mr. Moyes….We are rudderless.Do the decent thing and abandon the good ship West Ham.
- David Moyes appears to be so delusional that he believes his own propaganda. He needs to be put into a straight jacket and marched out of the club .
-
He’s going the same way as Alardyce getting tetchy with the fan’s. Maybe a bit of humility would be a better approach Mr Moyes
-
Delusion of grandeur ! Pretty sure 99% of other clubs he would be gone by now .
-
Wins more what Mr Moyes?

You are now living on history. There is a saying that suits: “You are only as good as your last result”. Think about it DM because you are gonna lose your best players and giving excuses for other players not to join. You are taking our club on a downward spiral. Time to go!!
-
Mr. Moyes. You haven’t won any of your last eight games!
-
Bloke has lost the hardcore away support today and I don’t think he’s ever going to recover from that

Lou Macari once said ‘The fans don’t care if you play crap football if you win 1-0’. He was wrong then, Moyes is wrong now. Take away his victories against Sunday League teams in the European games and ‘statistically’ Billy Bonds is our most successful manager. I believe that both Ron Greenwood and John Lyall have more prestigious silverware on their CV than Moyes. Moyes has crossed the rubicon… there is no coming back from those comments.

That comment alone should end his tenure
As the post says Moyes has not won more than Greenwood or Lyall and apart from the Conference trophy, which was superb, he has done nothing very much and played some awful football. He is not only insulting the great fans of this wonderful club, he appears to be hacking off the players as well. Nobody will convince me that Paqueta, Alvarez and Kudus enjoy playing this way, and Tim Steitxden must hate it. Stop blaming everyone Mr Moyes, look in the mirror and walk.
In addition to having their teams play better football, being more successful and understanding the fans Rob Greenwood and John Lyall had for more respect for the club and understood The West Ham Way. David Moyes does not acknowledge or even know that the West Ham Way exists. The man should be sacked immediately and the next manager given a long lesson on what it is, before he starts.
And may I suggest that long lesson is given by Mark Noble, Sir Trevor and Billy Bonds. No-one should disrespect our history. No-one s bigger than the club.
David Moyes has also had the benefit of far more resources than any other manager in our history. Comparatively speaking his record is as poor as Lou Macari’s in terms of what he has done for the club. Our European victory under Moyes will be seen for what it was… a nice distraction but hardly a proper trophy. Those like they FA Cup, League Cup get won since 1980 by Everton, Leicester, Wigan, Blackburn, Middlesborough, Birmingham, Luton, Oxford, Coventry, Villa, Wimbledon, Portsmouth, Wolves, Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea… without including the ‘big six’. But, according to David Moyes, we should be grateful and not expect to match the feats of any of the above teams, let alone be entertained. He is a disgrace. What he has done is the the equivalent of cupping his war to the fans and there is no way back from that.
