Claret and Hugh Australian FB group member Anna Ssasin may just have summed up the performance against Sheffield United yesterday in this latest comment.
A welcome three points of course after two defeats but where does it stand after defeats by Man City and Liverpool.

Firstly I will take any win in the PL home or away.
My view for what it is worth, not going in to individual performances. I thought it was an average performance against a poor team!
The first 20 minutes we played well should have been two up before we scored. I saw Sheffield United drop and panic before we scored again and then for the next hour decided it was ‘job done.’
Granted, they had a couple of moments but in reality the PL for Sheffield is a bridge too far!
We let them back into the game whilst being content to retain the ball across the back line which was all pretty uninspiring really. Is this the new West Ham way?
Good sides will punish us and they already have. This was an average performance against a poor side. Is this the new West Ham way?

I was at the game and thought it was a very professional performance, thought Kudus looked great when coming on and to be honest, with better finishing, should have had another two. Micky and Benrahma the two stand out under-performers for me. Aside from that, we played some nice stuff and were never in trouble. I really enjoyed it.
Hope it’s not the ‘the new West Ham way’. Except we have underperformed aand still squeezed through on a number of occasions in the past couple of seasons. And I would also take any win over the alternatives.
We missed good chances yesterday when players could have scored. They obviously have the skill to shoot straight so it must be all in the mind.
Also, as Ana said, we came off the gas and coasted home.
Also, as Anna says, we came off the gas.
Great summary. A very average performance against the worst team in the league. We did not need to play two defensive mids against a team like Sheffield united. It limited our attacking force. Kudus had to start yesterday instead of Soucek. I keep saying it we have a team that can compete with the best if we put the right players on the pitch. Unfortunately it will always be dour under Moyes but fans must realise we will not progress as a team playing in a way where we priortise a negative approach to games. We would have had that game wrapped up much earlier if we had a different approach and a more entertaining performance to go with it. Moyes is ultimately accountable no one else for these decisions.
