Karren Brady recently revealed West Ham will ensure that David Moyes has the final say on players which come into the club. Here CandH Facebook follower Dennis Martin makes it clear why he believes that policy in incorrect!

I couldn’t disagree more with Karren Bradys comemt: “He (Moyes) is the one that identifies the players and it’s left to others to go and do the deals and bring the players in and negotiate the terms.”
The idea that Moyes alone should come up with names of players he wants, and it’s the job of others to try to get those players, is antiquated and has no place in the modern game.
What should happen is Moyes should outline the style of football, the positions he needs and the type of players he wants.
Then a team should use data analytics, contacts and scouting to identify a short-list of players, then report back to Moyes with a dossier on those players.
The idea that Moyes would have an encyclopeadic knowledge of players across all leagues, or that he has time to scout and watch players across many European Leagues to come up with his own list, is wrong.
Perhaps this is why we see players like Harry Maguire being bid on. He should focus on coaching the first team and allow the experts to identify players that meet the criteria he defines. Of course, Moyes should then have final decision on which of those players we go for.
