Fanimo makes debut for Tranmere Rovers

FanimoHammers youngster Mattthias Fanimo finally made his Tranmere Rovers debut off the bench in their 1-0 defeat to Carlisle United in  League Two on Saturday. The 20-year-old winger came on in the 80th minute when the side were 1-0 down after conceding just 8 minutes earlier.

Fanimo’s ten-minute run out marked his first appearance at Football League level but some will argue it was too little, too late for Fanimo to have any kind of influence on the game.

Hammers loanee Fanimo was an unused sub for the previous three games since signing for Tranmere with manager Rob Edwards suggesting he had a slight groin strain but that has been questioned by some Tranmere fans who say why would you include an injured player on the bench.

With only one match remaining between now and the end of his initial loan period, an extension seems unlikely at this stage with only 10 minutes of game play under his belt but I am sure the player and club will seek assurances if his loan is to continue.
