Fans banter reflects the final day perfectly!

Darkness gathers over Moyes and Allardyce

The similarities between West Ham and Everton have always been obvious to me – like many of you know doubt – and yesterday#s little showdown at the London Stadium brought that home more than ever.

Here were two managers – and big mates – walking the same tightrope on their future employment having been in charge of the other club at some point in their careers.

They have been experiencing a healthy dislike by many of the supporters of both clubs and in Big Sam’s case still so  at the hands of many Hammers fans.

Our supporters and Everton’s are both noted for a great football sense of humour and that was beautifully reflected in a chant that was going round the stadium from the visiting supporters.

BFS is currently in a crisis over his future and has even been the subject of a survey among them by the board so many chose to let him know exactly what they thought and cried at our people:

“We hate Big Sam more that you”

That raised more than a smile among our lot who were watching the bloke’s brand of football stamped all over.

Later, and away from such those issues, the WHUISA vote  of no confidence in Karren Brady raised another amusing chant from Hammers fans:

We know what we are…we know what we are…keyboard warriors ….we know what we are.”

It was that kind of day and reflected well in Allardyce’s morning newspaper comments ahead of his meeting with the Everton board where he declares “There’s no smoke without fire” and Moyes’ quote that he “is on the streets at midnight.”

All good fun unless you happen to be at the centre of it!

  1. i diddnt hear either of those chants. i did hear a large crowd chant of ‘we want sam allardyce’ though. this changed to ‘youve got sam allardyce’ of course once we were winning the game.
