Despite the dire peril in which the Hammers team now sit, with the Premier League trapdoor looming large, it seems fans haven’t given up hope of witnessing a miracle at London stadium.

Arsenal, Champions-elect and five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, come visiting on Sunday intent on giving the Hammers a good shove nearer to the exit door whilst virtually nailing down their first Premier League title since 2003/4.

A quick look at West Ham’s temperamental ticketing e-booking system shows that, to all intents and purposes, the Hammers penultimate game of the season home game is sold out, which would seem to indicate the Irons faithful have decided to get behind their team ahead of what could prove either to be a massive, joyful shock or a sound thrashing, if past encounters have been anything to go by.

Either that or there’s about ten thousand incognito Gooners planning on turning up to witness their team try and take the leap towards a first trophy in years…

Recent unforgettable results have included ‘that’ one nil win for the Hammers at the Emirates and a six nil drubbing from Arsenal at London Stadium in February 2024.

Home fans will be hoping to see a repeat of the Hammers’ away win: Just perhaps, lightning could strike twice? Derailing Arsenal’s Championship surge and shoving Spurs towards the exit door at the same time would be too delicious to even contemplate.

The mere thought of it brings a tear to my eyes.

They say it is the hope that kills you. It’s taken me two days after the Brentford bashing but there it is, just about alive and flickering. Damn.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.
