Fans react to Hodgson’s Hammers view

Roy-HodgsonWest Ham fans have been reacting to England boss Roy Hodgson’s comments on the club’s international hopefuls and are not over-impressed with his views or the team he manages.

Here is a selection of their comments from the ClaretandHugh Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/?fref=nf

Toby Cole I lost interest in England a long long time ago with the succession of poor manager appointments and the overlooking of form players. Plus the fact that our players always seem to be injured after international games

Chris Denning Tompkins, noble, Carroll in the team and a second world cup success might persuade me to take more interest!

Sean Oakley
Sean Oakley No thanks……when he places Gibbs above Cresswell I have no interest

Ricky Whu Peters
Ricky Whu Peters still wont pick anyone , because they dont play in the favoured teams , this is why i dont bother watching them
Luther Loide Blissett I’m supporting Croatia this time wink emoticon. Their national anthem was very soothing when I was hungover quite badly once.
Daniel Altendorff Hodgson talks a load of rubbish, really annoys me. How can he continuously not pick Hammers when he has players like ryan mason and gibbs in the team. Cresswell and Noble at least should be making the squad.

  1. Hodgson is ignoring West Ham players because he can’t stand the thought of another Bronze Statue with the Cup held aloft by three Hammers . It don’t bide well with big fashionable clubs . But he will have to succum one day .. He can’t leave out Carroll , Tompkins and Noble forever . It’s simple really ; No Hammers = No Cups .

  2. hodgson is being forced to have another look at our players because of our position in the top four. It was the same last year when he called up Stuart downing. Hodgson is hoping we will come down with the xmas decorations again probably. Because we have a strong core backbone of English players in our team and the longer we are up there at the top the more the pressure will be on Hodgkin to call them up. Enough motivation if any was needed for our English players to continue playing at the top of their game. All of the are good enough to be in the England squad in my opinion.

  3. I love Noble, but I don’t think he is good enough for England. Too many times this season his wayward passes have cost us (Nearly did too against chelsea bar fabregas’ arm). Dont get me wrong, id love him to get a chance I just feel he makes too many wayward passes.

When song is back, even with Obiang he probably shouldnt be in our team let alone englands!

Tomkins on recent form, deserves a chance. Carroll, lets just see if he can stay fit first. Jenks, maybe long term.

  4. I have no time for England. It’s sheer football snobbery. There is no way Jones and Smalling would be playing for England if they played for a different club. The perfect example is Tom Cleverley. Always in the squad when he was at Man Utd. Didn’t get picked when he joined Villa (and I know he’s not England quality). As much as I would like to see our English players get recognition, I hope they don’t because I do not want them injured.
