Fans react to Irons “no Rice inquiries” statement

West Ham sources tonight told ClaretndHugh that despite near endless speculation during the international break about Declan Rice’s future, there haves been no inquiries for the player from Manchester United or any other club.
A top insider added told us there was no valuation on the player because he was involved in a  long contract and they had no intention of selling anyway.
Here’s how CandH followers responded to the Hammers statement after Declan too has repeatedly made it clear he is going nowhere at this stage of his career.
O Any stories linking players with genuine ability and corresponding ambition to Manchester United need to be treated with the contempt. Manure are a fading shadow of the team they once were. Yesterday’s men. Why would they feature in Declan’s future? Only in the imagination of those who work for the red-topped comics.
O The club have made their position clear. You don’t sell your best players because you don’t believe you are top level. You keep them and make sure you become top level.
O Why would he not be at the club very long when he goes to great lengths to state that it’s where he wants to be ? And why would anyone want to go to Man United apart from the Manchester evening newspaper ?
O If they offer £100m bite their arm off. Dec is amazing and can get so much better but £100m can transform the team.
O I think most Hammers fans realise that if Rice is truly a top level player he will not be at the club very long. That’s just the result of the wonderful PL monster which has been created.  The key thing for the club is to accept that and maximise the fee he goes for. But the crucial thing is successfully replacing him. Leicester have lost Mahrez, Kante & Maguire in the last few seasons, but are now challenging the big boys again because apart from having money coming out their ears, they have recruited well. We have to copy that model
