West Ham fans have been responding to Richard Keys’ comments that the Irons season could face burn out because of their early start to the season.
The former Sky TV presenter has taken a little side swipe at the club this season and many believe this is because of a friendship with Sam Allardyce.
Here’s what ClaretandHugh Facebook forum members had to say:
-
Chris Meyer I sometimes really struggle with the no swearing rule on here. Suffice to say the air is blue here when talking about that dim-witted, misogynistic, sexist and backward sports hack! Most of our team were either injured, returning to fitness or at their previous club during pre season. Moron!

Stephen Snell Well said Chris, could not have put better without swearing, but he is a ………………..
-
Carol Combes Get lost Keys!
-
Zlayem Ibrahimtiaž Rahmanovič Good grief, he never shuts up. Worthless has-been. Here’s to a win on Saturday to make him put a sock in it.
-
Steve 父 Jackson Guess what Richard; nobody cares what you think.
-
Jon Boreham What an utter tool

Bobby Djokovic I wouldn’t dignify his ramblings with a response. He’s in the media business and he needs his comments to receive as much publicity as possible in order to prolong his career. Just ignore him like the insignificant has been he is…Graham Herbert Sorry, I don’t get it. I know that he’s the antichrist (along with Sam Allardyce) and that you love to jump on them every chance you get, but I can’t really see anything too contentious with that comment! I know that he’s the antichrist (along with Sam Allardyce) and that you love to jump on them every chance you get, but I can’t really see anything too contentious with that comment! It’s his opinion, the Internet is all about opinions. I don’t think he’s far wrong in his assessment (so far). What’s to say that in January we start to burn out – it’s happened before. I know he’s a pr*t but if Julian dicks had said it in an interview, would you all be wetting your knickers? Everyone’s got an opinion!
Being in a childish mind my pop was at Herbert not Keys because he is not worth it,
Opinion is one thing stating rubbish that has not factual content is acting like a moron,
Before having a pop at me read the article yourself and if you know anything about football
You will realise YES he knows nothing
Don’t bother to apologise apache when you have read every thing as I am sure you will fill embarrassed enough after making that comment,
SILLY YOU
How the hell are the first team going to burnout because of the Europa participation. We played something like 36-37 players in those early rounds of 6 matches. Many of the first teamers were not even involved. It is a ridiculous arguement. As for you Apache young man,you have much to say considering you said you never even read Keys article.Just my observation,no malice ment by it.Teams who progress into the group stages statistically finish lower. As for us,for much of our European campaign the first teamers were in Ireland training. The Europa League has little baring on the first team.Even the guys who did play got sent off & missed most the matches anyway, lol
Tell me who in this team from our last match is going to suffer from burnout as our Prem campaign continues
West Ham starting eleven
1 Randolph
59 Knoyle booked at 45 minutes
12 Jenkinson
25 Henry booked at 49 minutes
37 Page (substituted for Pike at 93 minutes’)
23 Poyet
4 Nolan
39 Cullen
20 Maiga
28 Lanzini
36 Lee (substituted for Brown at 80 minutes’)
Dont see too many first teamers in that last match we played in europa.Burn out my hairy arse!
Bubs, seriously? If anyone has a contrary opinion they ‘no nothing’?
I haven’t read Keys’ article, but if he has an opinion, so be it. What I gather from the various headlines are two main points; 1) we are sharper because of the Europa League and 2) Because of the Europa League early start, we will burn out.
My thoughts are this. Even if it was the youngsters and ‘reserve’ players playing in the Europa League, their training would have had more intensity and when the squad finally fully got together that would have had an impact on the remaining first teamers.
I don’t know if our short stint will have an impact on our general fitness levels and whether or not we will get fatigued as the season goes on. What I do know is that conceding possession as we have done in most of our games so far means we have more running to do and it will be tiring. Hopefully that will change, especially at home.
Also, statistically teams in the Europa League have less league points and finish in a lower position than they did the previous year.
So Keys’ may have a point, he may not. He may be biased against West Ham because he is chums with Allardyce or he may not.
Vitriol directed at him and anyone who dares to consider it is incredibly childish.
Sounds like a right Herbert !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is Graham Herbert a Keys fan or not a hammers fan,how he can reply that keys is anything but wrong just shows how many out there that read columns no nothing about football,
Mr Herbert just think before you go on the internet because you have just joined Keys as a out of touch delusional human
1 Julian Dicks would never say anything so stupid, to you have a strange idea of real hammers fans if you think we set our knickers that’s the Spuds,
Yes everyone has an opinion but most who are delusional keep them to themselves
How can he talk about burnout? he should do a bit of research before making comments, then he would know that we have Song & Valencia to come in and AC is on his way back to match fitness with Antonio ready to start, maybe we will sell Jarvis (who has put himself in the market with his performances/goals) to Norwich in the January window and get someone else in
He’s getting exactly what he wants””PUBLICITY””Bull**** maybe””? But comments from us!! Even I have fallen for it..
