Fans speak out on Carroll issues

So there’s no sign of an Andy Carroll return with Slaven Bilic unable to give us anything near a date for a possible comeback.

AC’s injury issues are costing the club dear and they face three more years at wages of  £3.8 million with no ceertainty he is going to be fit for an extended spell.

Here’s what ClaretandHugh’s Facebook forum members have to say about the problem.

Slaven-Bilic-Andy-Carroll-Football365O Tell him not to be so greedy and be grateful for his cushy life!😩Pampered players!!
OThree years left on his contract! That’s ruddy outrageous.
O It’ll all end in tears – that’s if you’re not crying already!
O Who the hell decided to give him such a long contract? Ridiculous decision.
O Pay…..him….off
O Call me a conspiracy theorist, but there is something seriously wrong with this Carroll situation- something we are not being told. Another setback? Really?
OWhen Carroll is fit in my opinion he is the best English centre forward in the Prem. And I am sure we cannot afford to pay him off, it would cost nearly as much as what we paid for him. If he can get fit in ready for Jan 17 that would be great….keep him,
O Big fan of his when he’s fit, but that is a rarity. Give him away for free and let somebody else take the risk.  Liverpool must be chuffed they managed to offload him for £15m
O Pay should be more linked to appearances. Drinking while injured is inexcusable. I popped a disk in my back six months ago (violins please). I am self employed and that meant no income for the family. You can imagine how motivated I was to do everything I could to make a successful return.
O I wonder if those fans saying “pay him off” said the same about Dean Ashton or Julian Dicks? He’s a West Ham player, he has my support. He’s still the best striker on the books in my opinion.

  1. Sorry Mr man at the bottom of the list but you can hardly compare Deano to Carroll in my humblest of opinions. In fact its an insult to poor Deano!

  2. I like someone who commented, believe there is more to the “Carroll situation” than another knock, a bit like Arbeloa is missing for a certain reason, don’t buy it . COYI

  3. He will return as usual just as we start playing well and someone like Sak or even Zaza will loose his place to him,
Then our form will dip but not down to him,
Then just as a couple of our forwards get injured in training and we could do with him he will sneeze and spend the rest of the season on the razzel or in Dubai in the sun,
Then next season no good forwards will join us knowing he is in the background
Bite the bullet and let him move on at what ever cost,
By the way I like him when fit but have Noe run out of patience

  4. I like him when he is fit as well bubs but since his first game on the first of september 2012 he has only made 81 starts out of 158 premier league fixtures.I think he will always be injury prone and maybe now it’s time to get rid.

  5. No doubt the mighty moderator will ensure this never sees the light of day but I’ll feel better for writing it. (Is he on a performance related contract btw, unlike AC?) Anyway, whatever way you cut it, AC doesn’t provide value for money for our club. At £3.6m annually he just isn’t worth it, we should cut our losses and reinvest elsewhere. And as for comparing him to Deano – NO.

  6. I agree with the previous comments: there’s no comparison between Carroll and Ashton. The second one was one of the most gifted striker and he just had bad luck because of that terrible injury. Had that not happened, he would have done wonders and even today he would make the difference imho 😉
