Andy Carroll’s sending off for a double elbowing at Burnley has gone down like the heaviest lead balloon of all time among the fans.
The Hammers 10 men were caught five minutes from time to be deprived of three points and Carroll’s two minutes of madness are being seen as the reason why.
Here’s how members of the ClaretandHugh facebook group responded.
O If Carroll had a brain he’d be dangerous. Forget the late goal – the reason we came away with only one point instead of three is down to him and him alone. To make matters worse some around me chanted his name in salute as he left the field as if he was some kind of wronged hero. AC was no hero but every bit a villian. The only good thing to come out of this is that Sakho must surely start up top with Hernandez against Brighton. And hopefully stay there even when the village idiot is available again!
If there is any truth in Everton being interested (for £20m!!!) ship him out in January and bring in a striker with at least half a brain cell. Of course this all depends on the Sakho situation as well. Footballers today…..pampered load of cnuts.
