Farcical ‘pre-season’ games will decide relegation

This was the scene at Borrusia Dortmund on Saturday as they thumped Shalke 4-0

I’ve seen just two matches from the Bundesliga and won’t be watching any mores – my love of football doesn’t go far enough to embrace ghost games in empty stadiums.

But I’m glad I watched the two anyway because it confirmed my strongly held view that this is no way to decide vital issues such as championships, promotions and relegation.

We all know what’s involved now so no need to go over the restrictions or precautions that have been put in place and which will no doubt be applied by the Premier League should we get started again.

I’m just surprised that Sky and BT – who did a particularly poor job in their coverage – are remotely interested in screening these farces, which seem to be of more interest to visitors to situs judi Indonesia looking to make a bet.

It looked very much like pre-season football to me for long periods and given the shortage of time available for proper training it’s appalling that the fate of clubs is decided on such a format as we have seen.

Plus the liklihood of injuries will remain far higher than is acceptable and I wonder whether clubs with little to play for will be putting out proper teams or given their kifds a chance in non threatening circumstances.

This is not good but it shows one thing very clearly…football is about the fans and nothing but the fans!

  1. Couldn’t agree more my son ! Total garbage and hope whoever gets relegated goes to court unless you have fans and playing when fit players are given the time to get fit not anything is fine as long as we get our money as that’s all this is about nothing else

  2. It seems very likely that the hammers are doomed any way.
