Fears over Collins injury

James Collins is tonight at the centre of speculation that he has suffered damage ligament to his ankle and is heading for a scan in the morning.

The Ginger Pele suffered the injury in the first half and looked likely to come off to avoid further damage but played on until half time and was even sent out for the second half.

Eventually he collapsed off the ball suggesting that the injury may be significant and tonight we received early reports that he may have suffered the ligament damage.

And within the last few minutes  we were told: “Everybody has their fingers crossed for Ginge  We’ll know 100 per cent when he’s scanned tomorrow.

It could be that he’ll only be unavailable for three weeks although being honest it did look bad at the time.”

However, with Ogbonna available on the bench it seems bizarre at best that Collins was sent out for the second half of the game.

  1. Let’s hope Ginge isnt out too long.I can’t believe the pigging moaning around today. We had shipped 10 goals in 3 games away and now we have 2 clean sheets.WBA is always a tricky place to go to and we got a point. Not it wasnt pretty but thats life.
Moans when our defence is left open, moan when we play with a more defensive set up.Moan when we supposedly pass the ball sideways too much, moan when we play it earlier up to Carroll.
Theres no winning with our fans.Well some anyway.
    It really gets on nerves
    Rant over

  2. Too right Si.
When I looked at the fixture list, seeing 4 away in first 5, and where those games were, I thought, maybe 5 points, so about a point ahead of current position.
Although the Newcastle performance wasn’t good or acceptable.

  3. Hope it isn’t serious but you could see itwas coming he probably should have been pulled at halftime.
But in meantime I would like to see Rice on the rich of Reid so he can come out and pass.
I’m worried that after 1 mistake that wasn’t entirely his fault was bad pass to him when double covered at Newcastle we won’t see him again like what happened with Ox.
But think Rice in a back 3 would be great with his pace and passing

  4. If the player says he is fit to carry on, then not sure which Manager would overrule him
