Fellaini stamps on Tomkins ankle again

|

Tomkins2This image captures Marouane Fellaini stamping on James Tomkins ankle on 29 minutes in yesterday’s 0-0 draw at Old Trafford. Fellaini has a long history of hurting Tomkins in the last three encounters between the two sides over the past two years.

Many fans have argued both Fellaini and Schweinsteiger should have been sent off yesterday and Manchester United could have found themselves down to ten men in different circumstances.

It remains to be seen whether the FA panel will review one or both incidents from yesterday’s match. Surprisingly Mark Clattenburg gave the only yellow card of the day to former Hammer Michael Carrick.

Fellaini broke Tomkins nose when we played them at the Boleyn ground in February of this year, a game in which we drew 1-1.

The nose is a bit swollen. Fellaini was the second time in the match when I broke it. He has always got that about him when he goes up with his hands a lot,” Tomkins said at the time after the last encounter that left his nose broken.

The same thing happened in March 2014 when United visited the Boleyn Ground, at the time Sam Allardyce said:

“I thought Marouane Fellaini was lucky not to get sent-off for his foul on James Tomkins. They’ve got to be good enough to spot it don’t they? That’s what their job is.”

Schweinsteiger is one of those who fool you. You would trust him with your life because of his apparent good personality, but he can be a perfect Schweinhund. Hit someone on the throat a bit harder than what he did on Reid, and you can kill the person.
And for Fellaini you forgot one element : with knowledge to hurt.

Can’t see any reason why both incidents shouldn’t be reviewed , both deliberate and nasty with intent to hurt . Mind you if a couple of our players had remonstrated with Clattenburg about either incident , they would have been carded and the club fined for failing to control their players ! The F.A will probably do what their initials really stand for , F.A . !!
