Fiorentina deal still no closer

|

West Ham are not as close to a deal for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic as Sky Sports and the Italian media would like you to believe.

Reports from Italy backed up Sky Sports this morning suggested the deal was edging closer with some suggesting it was on the verge of completion.

Other reports suggested the Serbian International was London bound for a medical but club sources have poured water on these premature reports.

He does remain a player of interest for David Moyes we were told this afternoon but he is one of a number of potential targets in the central defensive position and it would be unfair to say he is the only target.

Over the weekend we reported problems with agents and the deal is not thought to have progressed further in the last couple of days.

A well-placed club insider told Claret and Hugh ‘The Italian press are wrong.”

West Ham continues to explore other options in case the Milenkovic is not completed with re-started Zouma talks being reported.

It’s becoming apparent that the owners have no intention of spending any serious money they will just play one off against another until the windo shuts and claim that they tried.
We really need to strengthen the squad for the Europa League but it is looking less and less likely.

Reading between the lines, it appears that the fee for transfer is agreed, possibly players salary is agreed upon too. However, the percentage to be paid in commission to the agent is a sticking point, it’s business and sometimes “ the will that weakens first, strengthens the others hand “. Let’s just relax and enjoy the negotiating process!

As a kid, I worked at Brick Lane market, every Sunday, up at 4 45 am, and then off to the greatest trader education you could wish for. Those old boys knew how to haggle for the best deals, many of them were absolutely swimming in cash, pockets literally bulging with notes.
One thing that I saw regularly was, even if the price was affordable, you’d be bidded down.

I hope the moral of the story is transferable to impending signings ( excuse the pun).

If we keep hopping from one player to the other we will lose out on both. And if i was the players concerned id walk. why would i join a club who by their dithering have made it clear im not really rated. It is true i think we are becoming a joke of a club.

There are reports we have gone back in for Zouma, if true we are a joke of a club, Zouma is a very average defender, Milenkovic is a top defender, if I was Rice I would hand in a transfer request because it is not worth staying around this season when we are buying players who are not good enough to bring us to the next level. If it is true that Moyes thinks Zouma is a better deal then we are in big trouble as a football club this season.

      You may be right.
But I think it’s a ruse to get the agent to accept a lower percentage to broker the deal.

You know, blokes and egos, sometimes just as a principle, we shape to walk away.
But really we want to tapped on the shoulder to be asked back!
Some people call it, reverse psychology.😜

The biggest joke is some of our so called supporters who go into a hissy fit everytime they read another report. “If this happens”, “If that happens”. If he signs, he signs, there’s nothing we can do about it. And if he does sign, some people are going to look sooo stupid.

Look we are not a spending club , it’s the finances! On this occasion if it’s about money pay it , he’s a bargain even at £20 million . He will be worth far more in the future. I pray we just get this done , he will be fantastic believe me .

This club is run by idiots that is all i can say, we need to stop this right now and get this deal over the line asap because it is destroying the image of the club. Lets be clear here if this deal fails to materialize it will have a detrimental impact on the relationship with the owners, this lad is worth every penny we pay for him so if they are asking 20m just do it and do not make us a laughing stock. Compared to Car, Phillips a totally different level, the fans will nto be happy if this deal is not done.
