West Ham’s under 21’s looked in imperious form thrashing Liverpool 3 – 0 in the Premier League 2 fixture at Rush Green. It was not merely the result but the manner of the performance as they denied Liverpool u21’s a sniff at goal for virtually the whole game.

Callum Marshall scored the first with a typical poacher’s close range goal, followed by a stunning Josh Ajala strike and a total screamer into the top corner from midfielder Mohamadou Kanté.

Dominant West Ham display sees off Liverpool

Josh Landers netted a fourth but had it ruled out for offside. Preston Fearon looked in decent form and had one volley well saved in the second half or else the Hammers would well and truly have run riot.

Further good news as George Earthy lasted nearly 70 minutes as he continued his return from injury and builds towards match fitness. In front of a live TV audience thanks to West Ham TV on YouTube, the young Hammers put in a second half display of absolute dominance after the first half ended goalless.

West Ham should have had a fourth near the end as Jethro Medine had his penalty saved in the 89th minute.

The victory West Ham climbed to sixth in the Premier League 2: Attention now switches to the senior side tomorrow to see I they can achieve a similar end result against Burnley.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.
