Fit and firing Mickey to terrorise The Toffees

Mikey Antonio’s brilliant decision to put club before country can pay off big time for the Hammers against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

The No 9 snubbed the opportunity of representing Jamaica given the travel and logistical problems involved and showed again that his heart is at the hammers in the biggest possible away.

At 31 the last thing he and we needed was for him to come back totally travel weary and maybe having even picked up a knock..

Instead he can terrorise  the Toffees who will have weary players in their squad following the third international break of the season – a shocking state of affairs of course for those of us who like Mikey put club before country in most cases.

He has been a real handful in most games this season and Everton could be  – like most other teams this summer – more than a little anxious about facing the Hammers powerhouse.

And speaking at his pre-match presser manager David Moyes declared: ” I think he has been firing on all cylinders and I hope he’s well-rested.

He’s got some good training in, he decided not to go with Jamaica for the internationals in the end because he felt some of the logistics weren’t right, but overall he’s back and we hope he can continue in the good form he’s been in since the start of the season.”
