Ashley Fletcher remains dedicated to showing himself as a first team player as his futurecomes under scrutiny at West Ham
The young striker has been linked with a move away from the club this summer aas the Hammers look to make bid summer signings up front.
But Fletcher remains entirely unfazed declaring: “It was the same last year, as everyone was saying we need a £20m striker but they are hard to come by.”
He told the club site, “It’s not easy to go out and find a player who can score goals regularly in the Premier League, especially those who come in from abroad.
“I look at Marcus Rashford, for example, who has taken his chance and stayed in the team and he’s probably now one of the best strikers in England. The same can be said for Harry Kane as well.
“There aren’t many young English strikers playing in the Premier League, so hopefully this season I can get even more game-time, as my ambitions are to play and do well for this massive club
“Last season was a learning year for me, so I’ve been away and worked on getting fitter and stronger over the summer as I want to come back firing in pre-season.”
I hope he comes good, you can see the potential he has, just needs experience fingers crossed he has a good pre-season and scores some goals.
I do like his attitude – if it can be read from this article. He seems willing to work and willing to fight.
Keep him. Fletcher looked far more energetic and confident than Calleri did last season. It’s puzzles me why the latter got more opportunities.
Agreed; Young Fletch shows real promise, I just hope the man in charge will play him a bit more next term (fingers crossed!)
Fletcher the man everyone else sees promise in i cant find.I must be missing something, time will tell 😀
Lol
