Fletcher on way in £7 million deal plus sell on!

Ashley-Fletcher-685012Ashley Fletcher is reported to be on his way to Middlesbrough for a stunning £7 million fee.

And we can confirm that the young striker has left the Hammers training ground in Germany to have his medical with the Championship club where he will be reunited with Darren Randolph.

We were told just a few seconds ago that the deal is 90 per cent done and that a sell on clause – to be agreed – has been written into it with our source saying: “It’s very good business for us.”

Fletcher has been tracked by several clubs over the last few weeks but  the £7 million fee for him represents an amazing profit on the £1 million which we paid Manchester United on his arrival given his lack of match action.

Despite scoring and providing the assist in the pre-season match against Fulham the Hammers appear to have quickly accepted that this is an offer they can’t refuse from  Boro who are spending big in their attempt to return to the Premier League.

  1. Snap their hands off & put me out of my personal hell of trying to see in him what others do.Championship player, nothing more, nothing less in my opinion.
I have been asking for about 6 months what others see in him i dont.Im mystfied by him 😁

    • Not sure how you worked that out on the very limited cameo’s he’s been given. 10 mins at the end of a few games is hardly the perfect platform for a young player trying to prove himself.

      • Because i also previously watched him for Barnsley when on loan there.Yes he scored some goals but his game wasnt one that would cause the hysteria for his inclusion i read.
It works both ways doesn’t it.How can fans be shouting about how good he is if they have only watched a few cameo appearances.
I wouldnt have said i dont see what others see in him based on that,im basing it on watching him in competitive matches in League One for Barnsley 😃

        • Yet those who watched him all the time, actual Barnsley fans, were biting at the bit to have him back on loan last season…

          • Well its only my opinion i didnt say it was right or wrong.Ffs youre the one whose always banging on about freedom of opinion on herebetween the pink jelly walls. And yet… 😁
As it happens i have said before he will be a very good Championship player. The division Barnsley are in,right or wrong?? 😁

          • Oh well if Barnsley fans want him back we must keep him..he must be good…pointless arguement…he was playing in the third tier for them..so what..

          • Does that mean i cant give an opinion on Andre Gray then as im not a Burnley fan who watched him all last season. You better not offer an opinion on possible signings then Ray unless you watched the player every game during their present clubs season lmao.
Your opinion will be null and void working to your system of valid opinions.

  2. shame as I wanted him to make it, but if we can get £7m for him plus sell on I guess it makes sense. need to reinvest in buying a quality replacement or start to give Martinez game time.

  3. Excellent business.

Now – Snodgrass and cash to Celtic with Dembele coming the other way.

  4. Of course you want players to make it Essex but i have never been able to see what others seemed to see.I asked my footballing guru 32 months & months ago what i was missing that others were raving about.I still dont see it😂

  5. Should hopefully open the door fully for Martinez to get into the squad. Imagine what he can learn from Hernandez.

  6. Great business 😁 was never going to make it IMO , I could never see what others see in him and said so numerous times , same goes for fegouli 😀 ndiyie will come IMO then let ginge go , great servant ,great bloke but as with noble the pace has gone 😉 snods to whoever wants him , what a disappointment he’s been , I really though he would do well , I think we were a club to far for him , who knows , who gives a shyte just get rid and as above get dembelee 👍 from Celtic .

  7. Sheesh £7 million for Fletcher.it just shows how potty the TW is.

Grab it with both hands and put it in the Dembele fund pot!

  8. Please somebody tell Boro that Snodgrass is available for £12mil.

  9. So thats one out WHEN IS SOMEONE NEW COMING IN????

    • Bloomin hell Booga we haven’t even got him out of the door officially :D, plus he is not part of the 25 man squad I don’t think because technically he is a homegrown youth player ? Not sure about that but I think Feghouli or Snodgrass has to be on their toes first or at least removed from the first team rota.

  10. On the subject of transfers I am more concerned about the reports Adrian has asked to leave.

  11. Well no32 if he has let him go.He has the chance too fight for his place and make it his.If he doesnt have that fight in him to stay with us then ok move on.I know you appear to be a big fan of his but he is replaceable.
He is too much of a show pony for my liking, always making dramas out of something better keepers make look simple without the Oscar nominated showboating.

  12. The question is replace him with who and when ? Hold him to his contract and I bet he gets a chance IMO 😉

  13. I’d rather Fletcher went on loan as I think he’s got something. Still £7m is good money (plus a sell-on clause) ….so I wish him luck. He’d do well in the Championship next season.

  14. Yes, I thought he was lanky and lightweight, he’s obviously not fully filled out yet – good business by the Club!

  15. Well from what i have seen across various west ham sites i have read £7 million is being viewed as a terrific bit of business for Fletch.Obviously there is the odd murmur of discontent but overall the view is one of too good to turn down.

  16. Just making sure they stick to their word No.32 . Not that i dont trust those up in the ivory towers!!

  17. And just like to state i like Fletcher and also believe in youth players . Class of 94 the mancs. And now look at the development of the english youth winning alot.

Sadly the premiership wants results yesterday.
