Flipping Hell | Hammers Explore Cashing In on Defender

West Ham could look to ‘flip’ Jean-Clair Todibo next season, C&H has learnt within the past few hours.

There was heavy speculation about the French defender’s future during last month’s transfer window, with some suggesting a move to Juventus could have been on the cards.

But as Claret & Hugh maintained throughout January, any such move would have been impossible as Todibo’s loan status meant we would not have been allowed to sell him.

However, as long as West Ham avoid relegation this season, it will trigger the £35m transfer from Nice to the Hammers, and the club will then hold the player’s registration.

With Graham Potter needing money for a summer spending spree, West Ham will need to raise funds from somewhere, and Todibo’s future has been discussed.

That said, he is set to feature for the remainder of the season and could thrive under the new Irons boss. If Potter decides to keep Todibo, then the club will have to raise funds from somewhere, and it could be Mohammed Kudus who once again comes under the microscope.

The Ghanaian’s form has been nowhere near good enough for anyone to trigger his £85m buyout clause in June 2025, but he remains an asset and is still the most likely player to be sold

If we sell him fir £50m, Aguerd £40m, Kudus £85m, Rodriguez £5m, Areola £15m that’s £195m in the kitty with Antonio and Ings likely to leave too and maybe Mavropanos, Coufal and Emerson too we could have a lot of funds to reinvest in the squad in younger hungrier players next season. Alternatively if we keep our defenders we could have a serious squad capable of putting in a top 4 run if we can find the right midfield and Forward replacements

The problem is that Westham spent money that they didn’t have on Todibo ( loan ) and once again wasted money on worthless players ( Fulkrug , Rodrigues ) and overpaid on several players ( Guilherme , Killman , Todibo ) . No Euro football means no extra income and nothing to excite potential new signings . Add that to the waste of time and money on LOSEpetegui and Westham have almost nothing left . Potter needs to assess all the players in the last 14 games this season and only get rid of the ones he doesn’t like . Get the best possible striker and scramble for bargain basement players everywhere else until Westham can afford quality .

Get.aguerd back under potter for.sure imo .he’s decent j lo fked him over.and up ..Potter will be good for him i think

  • Kip says:

Why sell them ..? who out there is better than them.on there day for the money we get…?
especially now potter has them happy again ..so .. why sell our top players….you got ings on 125 k a week..thsts the players we want gone ..to at least get his wages of .
    .
Not sure how they won’t be able to buy without selling in the summer . They spent nothing this past window even though they said we needed a forward midfielder and centre back..plus the offer for Duran..so in the end we get Fergeuson wich is fine..could be great signing..but don’t give me we have to sell before we buy ..that’s bollocks imo ….2nd or 3rd highest attendance in prem and nothing spent in last window…..so how we haven’t got moneys is a complete lie imo …they would never show you all there cards .. we want to move on To the next level..yet they might sell 2 of our best players .( mainly kudus but tobido is a top player when fit …) ….naaaa sorry total bs imo .. same old sullivan …I remember when the za za money never got re invested a few years back ..i think it was za za ..said they won’t buy and save
The money until the summer and get by on thread _ bare squad once again..and the summer came round and funnily enough the.20 Millom we got was never heard from again….I remember that well ..because Brady the lier said it in her pathetic sun news paper column ……

I think it’s obvious that Aguerd won’t be coming back. The Prem doesn’t suit him, so can we stop all this clickbait speculation!

  • bullsh*t man says:

Perhaps the money could come from all the revenue the club makes, rather then selling our most talented players? Just a thought. We’ve just spent a grand total of £0 on transfer fees during a January in which we had £56m to bid on a player.

They don’t want you to focus on the many multiples of millions incoming from numerous reveue streams and the 2nd largest home matchday crowds in the Country.

We just need to cut our cloth accordingly, be grateful for scraps and forget the notion that we’re within the top 20 clubs in terms of finance in the WORLD.

That’s the message some are force feeding via certain media outlets anyway.

Kilman, tobido and augerd can 100% play together , infact it would suit potters 343 formation perfectly, I’m drooling at the prospect of these 3 playing together, just hope aguerds mind has changed and wants to come back and play for us again

  • SirAlfred says:

    Hmmm… idle speculation I suspect.

Lets see what he’s about first. He has not had a run in the team yet due to injury disruptions.

Potter wont let him go if he lives up to his pre transfer billing as one of the best young French CBs around.

    • Whippet hammer says:

If Todibo stays, Aguerd goes, simple.

We can’t have a £30m player on the bench unless Potter is planning on using Aguerd, Kilman and Todibo as a back 3. That I would like to see, coached well and played in an effectively coached manner.

The drip, drip of the ‘we is broke guv’ line still persists then!

      • cb says:

not really aguerd is left sided ball playing CB like Kilman so I think he’s going no matter what, hard to get him and Kilman in same side

        • DT says:

No its quite easy lol, kilman is comfortable in the middle of the 3, aguerd suits the left with todibo on the right, you want possession based football? these 3 will dominate on the ball
