Football is back this Saturday! Which club to follow

The German Bundesliga returns this Saturday, the first major football league to return to our screens since the football hiatus.

Between we list the current Bundesliga teams with any known West Ham connections.

Augsburg   Academy youngster Reece Oxford joined them in 2019.

Bayer Leverkusen   Hammers paid the German club £16m for Javier Hernández in 2017

Bayer Munich  Former Hammer Thomas Hitzlsperger played for them

Borussia  Dortmund  The Hammers played Dortmund twice in 1966 in the UEFA Cup Winners Cup losing both times

Borussia Monchengladbach  Reece Oxford spent time on loan at the German club in 2018

Eintracht Frankfurt  The Hammers paid the German club a record £45m for Seb Haller in 2019

Fortuna Dusseldorf  West Ham were linked in the hunt to sign Fortuna Dusseldorf attacker Benito Raman in 2019

SC Freiburg Just last month the Hammes were with centre back Robin Koch who is said to be a David Moyes target

Hertha BSC  The Hammers beat Herta 5-3  in a pre-season victory in Austria in 2019

TSG Hoffenheim  The Hammers sold Havard Nordtveit to Hoffenheim in 2017 and after previously buying Demba Ba from the same club in 2011

FC Koln The Hammers were linked with Koln’s French hit-man Anthony Modeste in 2017

RB Leipzig The team that David Moyes says he wants to model his future transfer policy on.

Mainz 05   West Ham beat Mainz to win the Betway Cup 2018 with a dramatic penalty shootout victory in Austria.

SC Paderborn Last year the Hammers were linked with young striker Streli Mamba.

Schalke 04  In 2014 West Ham played the German club in the Schalke Cup in Germany. West Ham won 7-6 on penalties after 0-0 draw

Union Berlin  The Hammers were linked with Union striker Bobby Wood in 2016

Werder Bremen  West Ham played Bremen in the pre-season Betway cup in Germany in 2017 losing 3-2 on aggregate over two legs

Vfl Wolfsburg    Emanuel Pogatetz joined the Hammers on loan from this German team in 2013

  2. We beat Eintracht Frankfurt in the ECWC semi-final 4-3 on aggregate in 1976.
