For Arnie …read Anderson!

It looks an unlikely comparison on the face of it but David Moyes is hoping Felipe Anderson can become the new Marko Arnauotovic – the player who makes a difference.

Whether the Brazilian features at Anfield remains to be seen but it appears that the manager’s thinking is very much focused on the player.
Commenting ahead of the game Moyes – who was responsible for making Arnauotivic a central attacker is keen to ulock new features in Anderson’s game.
Speaking to reporters he said: “I think if Felipe can be our Marko it would be great. I think we  all agree it’s a type of player like that we want at the moment.
“I am trying to get Felipe into that mindset, to be more ruthless, to make final pass when you can get opportunity to do so and to eliminate then last defender when he can because he has that in his locker.
“I want him to do those things. That’s what we got at times from Marko. He would make those runs and he would get the finish. That’s what we are looking for from Felipe.
“But he’s been out for five weeks and with the games coming up it’s really important we get him in right condition and right frame of mind.”

  1. Spot on from Moyes. Anderson has the ability to be a game changer be that with a killer ball, a dribble or a clinical finish. Too often he has played safe so to focus on him to change his mindset is the way to go.

  2. 👋🏼💪 we can upset Liverpool tonight ,,? Hopefully .

  3. He has looked better playing centrally if he could add aggression to his game he would terrify defences.

  4. Spot on from Moyes I agree. If Anderson had the same mindset, killer instinct winning attitude of a player like arnoutavic ive no doubt he would be world class. I think Anderson may be too placid by nature though and I’m not sure you can turn a pacifist into a killer.

  5. If we try I know we can keep it to six goals , come on lads show your grit you can do it, Moyes, loads to say , nothing worth hearing.
Been a long time since we had anyone with a killer instinct,.
Have said it before, we just need to realise there are two goal mouths, not just the one behind us.
Where are the next three points coming from.? Probably the score draw on my pools coupon, that’s the best I can hope for 🤣
