Nottingham Forest have clinched the signing of Portugal international and long-time West Ham target Jota Silva.

The 25-year-old has joined from Vitória de Guimarães, signing a four-year deal that runs until the summer of 2028, with a transfer fee of €7m plus add-ons.

West Ham had remained in negotiations with Vitória throughout the summer, and Silva was a serious target until as recently as Monday. However, once it became clear that the Hammers had an agreement with Leeds United for Crysencio Summerville, their interest in Silva ended, allowing Forest to make their move.

The signing of Summerville should also end the Irons interest in Corinthians winger Wesley and Juventus Mathias Soule who were serious considerations earlier in the transfer window.

Known as the Portuguese Jack Grealish, Jota can play anywhere across the front line. He arrives on the back of an impressive campaign last season, which saw him score 15 goals and register seven assists in 42 games for Vitória across all competitions.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Obviously we decided that Summerville is a better option then

Once Westham lost interest in Jota his potential transfer price halved . I wonder if the same thing will happen to Duran .

For that money must be best value in this silly season.
Looks like he will provide a similar service as Summerville at a fraction of the cost.
Not like whu to miss out on a bargain

Interesting that he finally went for only £6M, let’s hope he doesn’t score the winner against WHU anytime. WH could have had him and AWB at MUFC asking price for the price of an untested Brazilian teenager. Just sayin’.
