Former Boleyn stewards return

West_Ham_United_Football_Match_at_Upton_Park_Football_Club_3979_14871Former Upton Park stewards are set to be used in potential hotspot areas for the match against Chelsea tomorrow as the club and stadium operators raise a major offensive against possible crowd trouble.

Over 5,000 Chelsea fans – the biggest away following so far – will arrive for the game and all security measures have been upped.

According to reports London Stadium officials will position stewards from West Ham’s old stadium Upton Park in potential problem areas.

West Ham supporters have complained about the security firm’s stewarding, claiming that the agency is more accustomed to managing athletics events and concerts inside stadiums than dealing with football supporters.
