Former Hammer Carlton Cole told TalkSport radio listeners that Said Benrahma will be a great signing for West Ham

The Academy youth coach said “If we get Benrahma, he will be a great signing for the club – he’s the playmaker we’ve been looking for. Benrahma will get bums off seats and fans clapping.He’s got the spice needed to unlock defences.” 

West Ham and Brentford have agreed a deal worth up to £30m for the 25-year-old winger that can play on the left, centre or the right and he is expected to fly back to London today after completing international duty with Algeria in Holland.

A medical may be imminent and if passed we could see him sign withinn the next forty eight hours.

Benrahma scored 17 goals and gave nine assists in the Championship for Brentford last season with 10 goals and provided 14 assists in the league for the Bees the season before that.
