Former West Ham player and manager Harry Redknapp is already a big hit in the jungle with ITV viewers. In the first twenty-four hours Harry said he was not too happy about the I’m A Celebrity camp conditions saying he thought it would be “a lot more luxurious”.
“I thought there was a caravan round the back here where they were doing bacon sandwiches,” he said.
“There will be a, ‘Ok, ok time out, let’s all go round and have coffees, bacon sandwich, sausage sandwich, alright back on set’ but no that ain’t happening is it?”
The 71-year-old who has admitted he had never watched the show before is already complaining about the food despite being on the Red winning team
While the yellow team had to eat basic rations of rice and beans, Harry’s red team were given emu for dinner as a treat.
“I thought there’d be a cheese roll in there but they said it was emu,” Harry mused. “I didn’t even think people ate emu. I’ve got to be honest, I don’t think I can eat emu.”
Harry was in good form as he stuck his arm in a box full of crabs and spiders to win the first challenge on the first show. His win means he and his team are exempt for the first two bush tucker challenges but it can only be a matter of time until the public votes for Harry to do a Bush Tucker Trial.
Harry and I’m A Celebrity returns back to the TV at 9 PM this evening on ITV.
Personally I’ve always liked Arry as a person and manager,he typifies the cockney attitude and wit,as a manager you never knew what he was buying a great or madman literally that is.But admitted his mistakes and bragged about nothing.
Some fans have a dislike for Redknapp I don’t really understand,he left because the board sold a lot of players from underneath him,and the last straw as I remember was when they sold Rio to Leeds and promised him money for a good replacement even though he was against the sale and then have him pennies,in short he couldn’t replace and move us on with what they left him with.COYI
100% agree with you. Always liked the bloke.
