Former Hammer may get a new chance

|

Sputhend United boss Phil Brown has revealed that former West Ham United attacker Zavon HinesĀ is training with the League One outfit.

Hines, 27, came through the West Ham youth system and went on to make 22 league appearances for the club before joining Burnley in the summer of 2011.

The former England Under-21 international has been a free agent since leaving Dagenham & Redbridge last summer, however, and Brown has confirmed that the winger is currently on trial with the Shrimpers.

“Zavon trained with the first team on Monday. I had a look at him yesterday and will do so again today with a view of him probably playing in an under 21 game next week,” Brown told the Southend Echo.

Hines failed to score in seven appearances for Dagenham last season.
