Former Hammer not feeling the love at Old Trafford

Former Hammer Jesse Lingard was spotted reacting to Manchester United fans at Old Trafford during Sunday’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool.

His team were battered at home and fans were in an angry mood with the team down four goals inside 45 minutes.

Supporters booed the players off the pitch at half-time while some made their way towards the exit, failing to return for the second half.

In a video recorded from the stands, Lingard, an unused substitute, is seen warming up by the corner flag while supporters shout towards him.

During the five-second clip, the former Hammer points at himself while looking at the fans and appears to say “I’m not on the pitch” before returning to watch the game.

Lingard took to Twitter telling his Twitter followers “It wasn’t abuse! he said “work harder” like I’m not already doing that day in day out! and I said “I’m not even on the pitch” end of!!”

West Ham fans piled into the online debate insisting it wasn’t too late to change his mind and re-join the Hammers in January.
