We know West Ham need a centre-back this summer!
We have reported exclusively that there are three main priorities for boss David Moyes in the summer transfer window.
The first one is signing Jesse Lingard on a permanent transfer deal; the second one is bringing in a new striker to replace the departed Seb Haller; the third is buying a new central defender.
Fabian Balbuena, of course, is going to leave the club at the end of his contract, on the final day of this month.
With Europa League football looming, Moyes needs to strengthen his backline in order to ensure that we have a squad capable of competing on every front.
We know that Joe Worrall is an option, the Nottingham Forest defender being eyed as another potential Championship star Moyes could develop.
And busy media man Frank McAvennie has now urged Moyes to get busy in the transfer market and bring a new centre-back into the club double quick.
Speaking to West Ham Zone, Macca said: “We’re going to be speculating from now until the end of the transfer window, so it depends who’s going.
“I think we need to see four centre-halves anyway that’s for sure, I don’t think there will be a problem with Moyes getting a centre half in because he’s quite good at plucking someone from the Championship even.”
Never fear, Frank, it’s on the agenda!
