Former Hammer Valon Behrami has become the sixth new arrival for Premier League newcomers Watford after signing a three-year deal for a fee believed to be £3 million. The Swiss international returns to the Premier League after six seasons away – having left West Ham in January 2011.
Behrami left the Boleyn Ground for Fiorentina and also played for Napoli before turning up at Hamburg in August 2014.
He became a regular last season as Hamburg battled for survival for a second successive campaign, making 22 appearances as they narrowly avoided relegation from the Bundesliga.
Back in 2o10 David Sullivan was quoted as saying about Behrami “He doesn’t want to be here, his wife doesn’t like London – but he cost us £6 million and his agent got more than £1 million to bring him to West Ham. He’s actually a very decent player and I’m surprised we’ve not had a bid for him.”
He’s got a decent working rate, but his technical skills and passing was horrendous. That’s how I remember him, a Steve Lomas with looks! Haha
I always liked his workrate but he was like a headless chicken…..well more like a bleached blonde chicken…..well not a chicken cos he got stuck in…..so he was more like a bleached blonde brave Daffy Duck…..final answer.
If we can’t have serious debate on here I’ll have it with myself lol
Lol,he has made a decent living out of being horrendous though.Lazio,Fiorentina,Napoli,Hamburg,West Ham.Wish i had been horrendous & played for these teams, lol 😀
If anyone can help keep them up they have signed him
Worth a punt at £3 million
