Former Hammer sorry we didn’t get midfielder

Frankie Mac on McTominay

West Ham legend Frank McAvennie has been talking  to West Ham Zone about Scott McTominey.

He believes that the Irons should have, or could, definitely sign the Manchester United midfielder, believing he  would be a “good fit” for David Moyes.

We of course had a £30 million bid turned down earlier and it seems very unlikely that the player will now be arriving at the London Stadium.

McAvennie seems convinced that he would be an ideal fit at West Ham and can’t understand why that has not been the case at Old Trafford saying: “McTominay is a good player.  For some reason he just doesn’t fit, but he would fit in at West Ham, that’s for sure, he would be a great player.

He added that he had seen him play for Scotland and his immediate reaction was “Wow.” but that he couldn’t understand why he didn’t do the same for United.

The fact that we have recently bought in Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse, makes it perhaps somewhat doubtful that we will go back to the Manchester club with an improved offer.

I think we are wasting our time trying to buy Man United players. Just like Jesse Lingard, Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay seem to think they are too good for lesser clubs like West Ham.

Only now it appears Lingard is trying to make nice by asking to train with the Hammers because, I’m sure, he thinks David Moyes might still have an interest in him while nobody else does. I’m not sure if we should be having any more to do with Lingard after the way he has treated our club with contempt. But with Moyes you never know!

It’s getting a bit West Hamchester and Red Hammers for me.It’s a shame DM is not fan of signing players from the blue side of Manchester. It’s Red Hasbeens for DMs beans on toast style of football.
