Former Hammer let go by Sky

Former Hammer Tony Cottee has revealed he has been let go from Sky Sports after twenty years in the job
TC posted on social media tonight “After 20 years at Sky Sports, today I was told that I will no longer be on the Soccer Saturday show. I’ve got fantastic memories and had lots of laughs but it’s now time for me to move on and see what the future will bring. It was a privilege to be a part of such a great team. I’d like to thank everyone I’ve worked with at Soccer Saturday in that time and a special thanks to all the cameramen and backroom staff who have looked after me so well … Perhaps there won’t be so many 0-0’s now ….?!!”
West Ham legend Tony Cottee made 336 appearances during his two spells in the Claret and Blue, scoring 146 goals.
Born in Forest Gate, London, Cottee began his career at West Ham, where he made his first-team debut in the First Division against Spurs on 1 January 1983, at the age of 17, by the time he was 23-year-old he had already managed 212 league games and 92 goals for Hammers.

He joined Everton in a £2.2 million deal in 1988 returning in 1994 in a part-exchange deal for defender David Burrows plus cash.

In 1996, he left West Ham for the second time when he signed with Malaysian club Selangor for £750,000.
